Latest project news

It’s a wrap! On Saturday 16th September at 2pm Becky James, double World Champion and silver Olympian and Rob Davies, Gold Paralympian table tennis star opened the new village hub and bike wash.

Henderson Hall Bike Hub Launch

The opening was followed by tonnes of cake and quite a lot of tea! Thank you for everyone who came along and the muddy cyclists who used the wash and showers. It was great to see it all being used.

The trim trail around the perimeter of the playing fields is finished with some new outdoor gym equipment. It’s great to see young and old using the new path with people strolling, cycling and running around it. It would be great to get some exercise classes utilising this outdoor facility so do let us know if you or anyone else could offer to run something.

Hoorah – The playground is now OPEN! It is looking great and please do go down with the family to enjoy the new equipment. The trim trail is also now finished and great for all ages to take advantage of a flat walk or cycle around the playing fields. With the community orchard planting apple trees around the edge of this space, it won’t be too many years before you can go and take a stroll and help yourself to an apple along the way!

Work has now finished on the hall phase of the project. The internal work on the entrance lobby and kitchen are now finished and we are so pleased with them. The kitchen is really ‘wow’!!

The old flat roof of the hall has been insulated and recovered, the bike wash is running with loads of cyclists washing down their muddy bikes. They are also taking advantage of washing themselves down in the lovely new external showers and, the new pedestrian entrance means a safer route in to the village hub for everyone.

All these new and improved facilities are here for everyone to enjoy. The hope is that they will encourage more participation in activities both within and around the village hub. We would love to see more local activities taking place so if you have anything you would like to set up or run please do get in touch. Keep fit, dance, art, IT, language, drama the sky is your limit. It just needs you!

And now Totally Talybont is completed offering two multi use games areas at the back of the playing fields. A great place to meet and get fit for everyone they offer tennis, basketball, netball, hockey and five a side football. If you think you have something to offer your community by way of helping to run any specific activities at this new facility, we would love to hear from you. Contact Talybont Community Council
